Where did you work before you joined Synpromics ?
I joined Standard Life as a Graduate Trainee in 1991 and spent 21 years in a variety of roles across the business in Customer Service, Acquisitions and Distribution. Latterly, I was Head of Retail Operations (UK) responsible for delivering sales support to 9,000 Financial Advisers and 180 Sales Consultants.
Why did you decide to join Synpromics ?
I was attracted to the challenge of moving from a large established FTSE 100 company to a small start up business in a completely different sector. I also really liked the team and was impressed with both the science and their ambition.
What is your role & what do you enjoy most about it ?
There are two main parts to my role. The first is to ensure that Synpromics complies with relevant legislation and regulation and that our Directors operate under good corporate governance. I also have responsibility for all things non-scientific, such as HR, Finance and IT. I love the fact that every day is different and brings new challenges as we grow and transform the business. I feel very proud of what the team have achieved both in terms of attracting new investment and driving forward the science.
